Today I want to talk about projects in general. I am constantly trying to find new projects that I can easily create and offer to my customers. There are so many areas of designing to chose from and I do not let any one pass me by. I am very eclectic when it comes to my creative side. I love to decorate interiors, garden outdoors, sewing clothes, making accessories, refurbishing furniture, creating furniture really random stuff or just anything that catches my eye. So for this day I would like to showcase some projects that I intend to do at some point and even one that I checked off my to-do list last week. (*its not a project for my business but could be adapted to sell later!) ENJOY!!!
These are pony bead bracelets. One thing that is for sure is that any crafter has a ton of these things just lying around and taking up space. I had been trying to find something that kids would enjoy to look at and buy that were interchangeable between boys and girls. So after some googling of pony beads I came across this adorable bracelet and website to boot. (see below) I would have never imagined doing this type of accessory but it will use up my stash quickly and give life to materials otherwise tossed aside. |
KANDi Cuffs (Check 'em out here) These are great gifts for kids and can be a cheap project that kids can learn too.
Something else I came across while searching pony beads is a new way to use them> MELTING. This is one item made that caught my eye and its only because I like absolutely LOVE anything in a checkered pattern and to boot they were even called "racing earrings". For those of you who have just met me or don't know I was a racecar driver for like 13 years of my life and my obsession with checkered stems from that. These earrings will be mine as soon as I get a chance to melt some down!!! :)

This unique use of wrenches is a great way to add some masculinity to any room. They are shown here on a fence of some sort but I think if you attached them to a wooden plank or something of that nature you could make a wall decor item that is also functional for any room. I was also thinking that spray painting them would create a new way for them to shine again. Lots of thoughts and different tools to use came to me as soon as I discovered this on one of my favorite websites for inspiration> ETSY (Click it to check out all the handmade goodies.) |

The project that I did for myself recently is an idea that I got from one of my favorite bloggers: Spasticly Pretty (click so you can check out her project).
Refurbishing items you already own is a great way to save money and redecorate!! >Love it so I decided I would give it a try. And this is what I did.
I had a ton of miscellaneous picture frames all crowding my mantle, and nothing going down the hallway. So I took a few frames, bought some spray paint ($4) and transformed old into new and created a display of them going down the hallway. The results were great and I can't wait to add to them as I get more pictures. Funny part is they kinda look like a shrine to my kiddo. (Totally okay with me but maybe kinda creepy to some!)
Excuse the empty frame on the end I broke the glass upon reassembly! :) |
The final result> pleasing not distracting. |
Well this is it for now before I drag on to much with ideas that stream through my head. Hope you enjoyed my treasure hunting!
