Day 7- Weekend Warrior Saturday

A devotion to my DIY spirit.... Saturdays are the best for getting projects done and thats why I would like to devote this day to showing off ONE-Day done projects that anyone can do crafty or not. For this weekends project I only had half a day to finish and that why this posting is a day late. I wanted to show off the finished product. I had an idea for this project come about when a friend of ours wanted to redo a interior door into a headboard. (Something I had shown him a few years ago when we decided to make our own headboard.) When we had moved to our newest home the previous patrons left behind a fantastic older door with a beautiful clear glassy door knob. When our friend started this project I noticed the door knobs and demanded that they be salvaged for a future project. And that is where we start.....A set of vintage clear glassy door knobs. Trying to figure out how to attach them to a wall is where the idea came from. And now for the goodies.....how I created them. ENJOY!
Found these in a craft bag at the good will for $1 for the whole bag. THought they would work great as a backboard for the knobs.

These are the vintage clear glassy door knobs I salvaged from the head board door project for our friend. They just look so classy and I love them.

So before being able to attach the door knobs to the back boards I painted them with paint I had left over from the house makeover when we moved. (This is actually my bedroom color!) And after I (Well my wonderful husband and his handy man skills) drilled the hole and inserted a screw large enough to fit the door knob hole. Then the boards were ready to attach the door knobs.

And this is what it look like with the door knob attached.

And as a set of two.
We drilled additional holes on the back side in the center so that they could just hang on a nailhead. I can't wait to hang these in the entry way for our guests to use for purses and coats and things! For $1 (the price of the boards) I made these elegant pieces and in about a days time. LOVE'n It!!!
